HE Dr. Marwan Muasher currently serves as the Vice President for Studies at the Carnegie Endowment in Washington and Beirut, overseeing Middle East research. Previously, he held the position of Senior Vice President of External Affairs at the World Bank. Dr. Muasher's distinguished career includes serving as Jordanian Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, as well as Minister of Information and Jordan's ambassador to Washington and Israel. During his tenure in Washington, Dr. Muasher negotiated the first free trade agreement between the United States and an Arab nation. He played a pivotal role in developing the Arab Peace Initiative and the Middle East Road Map while serving as Foreign Minister. Additionally, he held a seat in the Jordanian Senate.

Dr. Muasher began his career as a journalist for the Jordan Times and later held positions at the Ministry of Planning, the Prime Minister’s office, and as Director of the Jordan Information Bureau in Washington. He is the author of "The Arab Center: The Promise of Moderation".
