HRH Princess Banderi AlFaisal - Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

HRH Princess Banderi AlFaisal served as the Director General of the King Khalid Foundation from 1999 until her passing in 2019. Throughout her tenure, she prioritized sustainability over dependency, emphasizing the importance of building formal structures within the foundation and implementing rigorous measurements and evaluations. Recognizing the pressing need for capacity building in Saudi Arabian non-profits, she directed efforts towards strategic planning, mentoring, and program development. Princess Banderi's advocacy extended beyond her foundation, as she provided guidance to philanthropists and other organizations, highlighting the necessity of program-building funds for a robust non-profit ecosystem. To ensure continuity, she established the Princess Banderi Al Faisal Fellowship at the Kennedy School, supporting students from the Arab League. Additionally, she actively participated in launching social development initiatives across Saudi Arabia and engaged in promoting strategic philanthropy through local and international conferences. Princess Banderi, a member of various philanthropic societies, held a BA in English Literature from King Saud University and a Master’s in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School.
