Excellence in Education - 2020

INJAZ Al-Arab, Junior Achievement MENA, is the largest non-profit organization in the region dedicated to youth education and training in the Arab world. It works to inspire and prepare a generation of Arab youth to utilize their natural talent, inspiration, passion, and determination, in order to become the business leaders and entrepreneurs of tomorrow. INJAZ equips millions of Arab youths to drive the economies of the Arab world forward, through training in workforce readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy. The organization began its work in the region in 1999. Today, it is the regional operating center for JA worldwide, inspiring students to succeed in 13 countries: Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates, Yemen. To date, INJAZ Al-Arab has impacted the lives of 3.5 million students with the collaboration of 3,000 schools, 418 universities, 300 private sector entities, and 45,000 corporate volunteers. INJAZ Al-Arab implements a wide array of youth empowerment programs delivered directly to classrooms, providing students with opportunities to learn from the volunteers’ real-world experience while also benefitting from associated networking and mentorship opportunities. At the local level, INJAZ’s relationship with ministries of education and other key government departments is essential in driving the success of their model—enabling INJAZ’s stakeholders and the private sector supporters to access public schools and universities across the region. INJAZ won the Skoll Award for Social Entrepreneurship in 2009 and the Henry R. Kraviz Prize in Leadership in 2012. The Harvard Global Education Initiative recognized INJAZ Al-Arab as one of the leading entrepreneurial entities in the 21st century. It is also recognized by NGO Advisor as one of the Top 100 NGOs in the world.
