Nadine Hachach Haram on how technology is changing the operating room!

DeviceTalks Boston hosted TAKREEM Young Entrepreneur 2018 Laureate Dr. Nadine Hachach Haram on the panel titled “How technology is changing the operating room?”. Proximie CEO Nadine Hachach-Haram posited that question, saying that the excitement around the technology must be met with the right application.“ The quality of care has improved access, but how does it ultimately make sure every patient is getting the best care the first time, every time?” Hachach-Haram said. “With that in mind, value and impact was always front of mind. We recognized that we needed to build something fit for now that fit for the future as well.”Hachach-Haram was on the panel alongside Activ Surgical CEO Todd Usen, Stryker VP of Digital Innovation for Surgical Technologies Siddarth Satish and Avail Medsystems CEO Daniel Hawkins. Bill Betten, director of medtech solutions at S3 Connected Health, moderated the panel. Nadine Hachach-Haram is a surgeon with a passion for technology and innovation, an insatiable curiosity, and a desire to make a difference in the world. As a surgeon, lecturer and NHS clinical entrepreneur, she built on her passion for innovation, education and global surgery to co-found Proximie: an augmented reality platform that allows doctors to virtually transport themselves into any operating room, anywhere in the world. Proximie gives surgeons the ability to interact visually and practically with an operation, from start to finish. Its aim is to provide safe, accessible and cost-effective surgery to every patient around the world. Nadine, who is currently a plastic surgeon in London, also undertakes a number of roles to help advance surgery including: council member of the Royal College of Surgeons Future of Surgery Commission, council member of BAPRAS Innovation UK, University College London honorary clinical lecturer, SAC Plastic Surgery Simulation task force, President of BFIRST trainee members, and council member of the Royal Society of Medicine plastic surgery section.
