Anis Kallel is the co-founder and CTO of Kaoun,
a Fintech startup based in Tunisia working on eKYC, payments, and credits in
the region. Kallel studied Computer Science and Business at the University of
Rochester, New York. In 2017, he worked as an associate at Seedstars World
where he traveled across Sub-Saharan Africa to identify the best and most
investable early-stage startups. Kallel worked with corporates, governments,
and startups on growing the entrepreneurship ecosystems, sharing success stories
and opportunities, and attracting further investment in the region. Inspired by
the potential of technology to reduce barriers to entry for the underbanked and
underserved, Kallel moved back to Tunisia to work on Flouci, a mobile banking
application that allows individuals and businesses to create a free bank
account and a mobile wallet via smartphone, and access a range of financial and
governmental services. Kallel is a Fellow at Haram Beans, an alliance of
determined entrepreneurs who are building Africa's future, and was nominated in
2019 as one of the top 100 leaders of tomorrow at the St Gallen
Symposium in Switzerland.
