DAR AL ATTA'

DAR AL ATTA' - Oman

Special Distinction - 2023

Dar Al Atta’a, a symbol of compassion and community unity, was born in the heart of Oman in 2002. Founded by a group of dedicated women with a passion for charitable work, this small initiative initially went unregistered but quickly gained recognition due to its heartfelt altruism.

In 2006, Dar Al Atta’a achieved official recognition and began operating under the Ministry of Social Development, as per Ministerial Decree No. 2006/76. This marked a significant turning point, providing the organization with the capacity to serve and uplift underprivileged communities across Oman.

Translated as 'The House of Giving,' Dar Al Atta’a embodies a mission that resonates throughout the nation: "Improving the lives of the underprivileged in the Sultanate and encouraging giving through positive and constructive partnerships with donors and those in need."

Empowerment lies at the heart of every Dar Al Atta’a initiative. The organization firmly believes that equipping individuals and families with the right tools and qualifications enables them to shape a sustainable and secure future. It's more than assistance; it's a profound transformation, granting autonomy and dignity to those facing life's formidable challenges.

Dar Al Atta’a's forward-looking plan aligns with its founding principles. Achieving key milestones through 2022, such as the Al Atta's Neighborhood Project aimed at rejuvenating communities, and a commitment to building a minimum of 15 new houses annually, reaffirms its dedication to providing refuge and stability to more families.

From its modest beginnings as a small group of compassionate women to its present status as a nationally recognized force for good, Dar Al Atta’a stands as a testament to the transformative power of collective compassion and unwavering dedication. It serves as a beacon of hope and giving, reflecting Oman's enduring spirit of generosity.
