HE Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer is the Chairman of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society. He is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dasman Diabetes Institute where he has been instrumental in ensuring that the Institute is the leading specialty center for Diabetes in the Gulf Region. He has developed innovative, hands-on diabetes-focused healthcare education within Kuwait. Dr. Al Sayer is also the Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Association for the Care of Children in Hospital which provides focused services within government hospitals across Kuwait. He is president of the Bayt Abdullah Children’s Hospice which is the first hospice of its kind in the Middle East. Throughout his career, he has held many positions, including Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Surgical Department of the Amiri Hospital, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Kuwait University, and visiting professor at the Surgical Department of Aberdeen University for 5 years. He has been awarded numerous medical certificates and diplomas in the field of surgery. Hilal holds a medical degree from Cairo University.
