Mayada Himani - Lebanon

Mayada Himani is a published author. She holds a Master's Degree in Islamic Studies and a Diploma in Comparative Law, both from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London.  She started her career at the Middle East Broadcasting Centre (MBC) in London, where she anchored and hosted a variety of programs including, the morning show, a fashion program, and a newspaper review program, amongst others.  More recently she has devoted her time to her poetry and to volunteer work where she has adopted a hands-on approach that included teaching children at Palestinian refugee camps in Beirut, amongst other direct engagement projects.  Mayada was born in Yemen and lived her formative years in Lebanon and her adolescence in the UK.  Now she lives between London and Beirut where a spirit of empathy shines through her poetry and volunteer work.
